For the Ribs
  • 2 racks baby back ribs Tender and flavorful
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt Feel free to adjust
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Adds warmth
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Imparts smokiness
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Or use fresh minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Fresh onions can replace this
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Your favorite brand
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar Or lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar Optional for sweetness

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry.
  2. Mix together the seasonings and apply generously to both sides of the ribs.
  3. Pour half of the barbecue sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Place the seasoned ribs upright in the slow cooker.
  5. Mix remaining sauce with apple cider vinegar and brown sugar, then pour over ribs.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours.
  7. Carefully remove ribs and broil for a few minutes if desired.
