Ingredients
  

For the Burger Mix
  • 1 lb Ground Turkey Lean and healthy
  • 1 cup Yellow Onion Finely chopped
  • 1 medium Jalapeño Minced; adjust spice to taste
  • 2 tbsp Honey Sweetness added; can substitute with maple syrup
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika Adds smoky flavor
  • 1 tsp Thyme Fresh preferred
  • 1 tsp Cumin Earthy flavor
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp Oil For cooking; olive or avocado oil
For the Assembly
  • 4 pieces Hamburger Buns Choose gluten-free if needed
  • 1 cup Fresh Corn Salsa Fresh preferred
For the Avocado Crema
  • 1 medium Avocado Ripe
  • ¼ cup Cilantro Optional
  • ½ cup Sour Cream Can swap with Greek yogurt or dairy-free option
  • 1 tbsp Lime Juice Can substitute with lemon juice

Method
 

Burger Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely chopped yellow onion, minced jalapeño, honey, smoked paprika, thyme, cumin, and salt. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes.
  2. Form the turkey mixture into 3 or 4 patties, about ¾ inch thick, with a slight indent in the center.
  3. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil, and cook the patties for about 5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Prepare the avocado crema by blending avocado, cilantro, sour cream, lime juice, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns cut side down in the remaining oil for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading avocado crema on the bottom bun, adding a turkey patty, and topping with corn salsa, then cover with the top bun.
