Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Gather all your ingredients and prepped tools.
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add ½ cup of finely diced onion and 1 minced garlic clove; sauté for 3-5 minutes.
- Combine onion and garlic with 1 lb of sausage meat, 1 tsp of dried sage, and 1 tsp of dried thyme. Season with pepper and salt; mix thoroughly.
- Unroll the thawed puff pastry onto a floured surface. Cut into 4x6 inch rectangles.
- Place 2 tablespoons of filling in the center of each pastry rectangle, fold edges over and seal tightly. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Make small slits on top of each roll. Brush with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes. Watch for a golden brown and puffed appearance.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with dipping sauces.
