For the Topping
  • 1/2 cup ketchup BBQ sauce for an alternative
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard yellow mustard as a substitute

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Add mushrooms, onion, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Gently fold in the shredded Swiss cheese into the meat mixture.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and Dijon mustard. Spread evenly over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
