  • 1 lb Ground Beef can be replaced with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic fresh minced
  • 1 tsp Cumin adjust for desired flavor intensity
  • 1 tsp Paprika sweet or smoked varieties based on preference
  • to taste Salt & Black Pepper customize to taste
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil or substitute with another cooking oil
For the Pockets and Toppings
  • 4 pieces Pita Bread warm before serving
  • 2 cups Lettuce shredded
  • 1 cup Tomatoes diced
  • 1 cup Cucumbers sliced thinly
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese crumbled
  • 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce store-bought or homemade

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat for about a minute.
  2. Add finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 3-4 minutes until onions are translucent.
  3. Introduce the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart. Sprinkle in cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place pita bread on a baking sheet and warm for 5 minutes.
  5. Fill each pita pocket with the beef mixture, then layer with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and crumbled feta cheese.
  6. Drizzle tzatziki sauce generously over the filled pitas and serve immediately.
