  • 4 Pita Bread Whole grain for extra fiber.
Fresh Fillings
  • to taste Fresh Vegetables (Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumbers) Optional swaps include bell peppers or spinach.

Sauce
  • to taste Tzatziki Sauce Homemade or store-bought.

Method
 

Steps
  1. In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Season with cumin and paprika, along with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Warm pita pockets on a baking sheet for about 5 minutes or microwave for 30 seconds.
  4. Open each warm pita pocket gently and fill with the beef mixture, topping with fresh vegetables and feta cheese.
  5. Drizzle tzatziki sauce over the filled pockets and serve immediately while warm.
