Ingredients

For the Phyllo Cups
  • 1 package frozen phyllo cups Can substitute with homemade phyllo cups or pie dough if desired.
For the Filling
  • 8 slices regular-cut bacon Avoid thick-cut bacon to prevent overwhelming the cups.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Light or dark brown sugar can be used depending on preference.
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup Pancake syrup or pure maple syrup works; pure gives a richer taste.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. Fry the regular-cut bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until just shy of crispy, about 8–10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and chop into small pieces.
  3. Place the frozen phyllo cups on the prepared baking sheet. In each cup, add 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar, followed by a dash of maple syrup, then fill with chopped bacon.
  4. Sprinkle an additional bit of brown sugar on top of each filled phyllo cup for added sweetness.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Keep an eye on them!
  6. Let the bites cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
