Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of yeast, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt until well blended.
  2. Pour in 1 cup of warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil into the dry ingredients. Mix with a wooden spoon until a sticky dough begins to form.
  3. Transfer the sticky dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes by hand, or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough into a lightly greased bowl, covering it with a damp towel. Allow it to rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Grease a rectangular baking tray with olive oil. After the dough has risen, gently punch it down and spread it out into the tray.
  6. Take your favorite jam and drop spoonfuls into the dimples made on your dough. Let it rest for an additional 20 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once preheated, bake the focaccia for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
