  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast Ensure fresh for best results
  • 1 tablespoon White Granulated Sugar
  • 3 cups Bread Flour All-purpose flour can be substituted

  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil Can substitute with avocado oil
  • 1 stick Unsalted Butter Melt before use
For the Topping
  • 1 stick Brown Butter Melted and cooled
  • ½ cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk Adjust consistency as needed
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water with white sugar and sprinkle yeast over top. Let sit for 10-15 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together bread flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.
  4. Grease a baking pan and transfer the dough, spreading it evenly. Let rise for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  5. Prepare brown butter by melting unsalted butter until golden-amber and nutty. Cool slightly.
  6. Mix light brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Stir into cooled brown butter until dissolved.
  7. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Dimple risen dough with fingers, pour topping over evenly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. Make glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled focaccia.
