  • 1 cup Feta Cheese crumbled
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese grated, optional
  • 1 large Egg for egg wash
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
For Cooking
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil or any neutral oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg optional
For Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds optional

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Gather your ingredients and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté spinach for 3-4 minutes until wilted and mix in garlic.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the spinach with feta, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets and cut into long strips, about 1 inch wide.
  5. Place a tablespoon of filling at one end of a pastry strip, fold over and twist to encase filling.
  6. Whisk an egg and brush the pastry with the egg wash for a shiny finish.
  7. Place twists on the lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
