  • 8 ounces cream cheese Softened to room temperature.
  • ½ cup sour cream Greek yogurt can be used for a healthier alternative.
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise A vegan mayo is an excellent plant-based option.
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup Consider replacing with vinegar and sugar if preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar Adjust based on desired sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish Can omit for a milder flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley Fresh parsley can also be used for garnish.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • electric hand mixer

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by chopping the cocktail onions into smaller pieces and setting them aside. Ensure your cream cheese is softened to room temperature.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the panko breadcrumbs along with onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir frequently for about 5 minutes, until golden brown and fragrant. Remove half for topping later.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth using an electric hand mixer, about 2-3 minutes. Fold in the chopped cocktail onions and remaining seasonings.
  4. Transfer the dip mixture into a serving bowl, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle reserved toasted breadcrumbs on top and finish with a sprinkle of dried parsley.
  5. Serve immediately with an array of chips, crackers, and vegetable sticks. Refrigerate if not serving right away.
