  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese or mozzarella, for topping
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese omit for dairy-free
  • 1 tbsp Dried Italian Seasoning or a mix of basil, oregano, thyme
  • 1 tsp Paprika or cayenne for more spice

  • 1 cup Beef Broth or Water vegetable broth for vegetarian option
  • ¼ cup Milk optional, can use plant-based milk for dairy-free
  • ¼ cup Fresh Parsley for garnish

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture into the greased baking dish. Layer thinly sliced potatoes over the beef. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and parmesan cheese over the potatoes. Pour beef broth around the edges. Drizzle with milk if desired.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
