- Wash and slice the fresh strawberries. In a medium saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes until syrupy. Strain and cool.
- Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add black tea bags and steep for about 5 minutes. Remove tea bags, stir in sugar until dissolved, and let cool.
- In a large pitcher, combine cooled strawberry syrup and brewed tea. Add 2 cups of cold water and lemon juice, stirring well.
- Serve in glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish with mint and strawberry slices if desired.
