- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and melt ½ cup of unsalted butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Whisk them together, then stir in 1 cup of whole milk until smooth.
- Pour the prepared batter over the melted butter in the baking dish—do not stir!
- In another bowl, mix together 4 cups of sliced fresh peaches with the remaining ½ cup of sugar and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. Toss gently and layer on top of the batter without stirring.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 45–50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow the cobbler to cool for about 10–15 minutes before serving.
