Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and adjust the oven rack to the center position.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, salt, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Let sit for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Then stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
- Pour peach filling into the baking dish and dollop biscuit batter on top without covering completely.
- Optionally sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top of the biscuit batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
