  • 4 cups Broccoli florets cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 6 slices Bacon cooked until crispy
  • 1 cup Dried cranberries recommended brands include Ocean Spray Craisins
  • 1/2 cup Red onion finely diced
  • 1/2 cup Sunflower seeds keep separate until serving
For the Dressing
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise Hellmann's preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • to taste Salt & pepper essential seasonings

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by rinsing fresh broccoli under cold water. Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets, discarding any thick stems.
  2. Finely dice red onion and combine all vegetables in a large mixing bowl.
Making the Dressing
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  2. Season the dressing with salt and pepper to taste.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Add the dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, and crumbled crispy bacon to the broccoli and onion mixture.
  2. Mix gently but thoroughly to combine.
Dressing the Salad
  1. Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and fold the ingredients together carefully.
Chilling
  1. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
  2. Add crispy bacon and sunflower seeds just before serving for texture.
