- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Gather your ingredients and have a large skillet or Dutch oven ready.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced sweet onions and cook for about 20–30 minutes until caramelized.
